Plaintiff:
Cinderella Robinson
Incident date:
10/22/2008
Location:
5659 S. Shields Ave.
Allegations:
The Robinson family was at home when several police officers forced their way inside without announcing themselves, knocking or indicating they had a search warrant. The officers searched the Robinsons' home and did not find any firearms, illegal narcotics or other contraband. During their search, the officers broke furniture, made holes in the ceiling and walls, and used an incendiary device that caused fire damage to a wall and the floor. The officers were all members of a SWAT team and carried semi-automatic assault rifles, which they pointed at the Robinsons throughout the search. The officers forced the Robinsons into physical restraints, and held them in these restraints for a lengthy period of time. One month later, the Robinson family was at home when several other police officers, without a search warrant, forced their way inside without knocking or announcing themselves. The officers also damaged some of the Robinsons' property.
