Plaintiff:
Darren Norwood
Incident date:
04/20/2006
Location:
5619 S. Normal Ave.
Allegations:
Officer Papaioannou had obtained a search warrant for a home on South Normal Avenue, but instead he and the other officers forced their way into a home next door, where Darren and Doris Norwood, Evans, Clark and two minors, lived. They pointed their guns and ordered them to lie face-down on the floor. Doris told them she was recovering from breast surgery, but they repeatedly told her to shut up and stay on the floor until she showed them her scar. The officers handcuffed several of the plaintiffs and detained them in the living room. Even after the officers showed the plaintiffs the search warrant and were told that they were in the wrong house, the officers continued searching. When they didn't find anything, they left.
