Allegations:
N.B., age 17, was standing on the sidewalk with fellow high school students when a group of Chicago Police officers arrived. They ordered the teens to leave the area, then began arresting them. Officer Rodgers, who was off duty and working as a private security guard for Maverick Security, arrived and began to help the CPD officers arrest the students. As officers were escorting N.B. to a police car, Rodgers punched her in the face twice for no reason. Rodgers falsely claimed that N.B. had hit Rodgers with her handcuffs, which was used to charge N.B. with felony resisting or obstructing a peace officer. N.B. was placed on house arrest and electronic monitoring for nearly 18 months. Eventually, she was found not guilty.
