Case 15-CV-9633

$35,400

FALSE ARREST

Stop and frisk On duty False arrest or report Threats/intimidation Excessive force Destroy/conceal/fabricate evidence Retaliation Drug charges

Plaintiff: Eric B. Corder

Incident date: 10/26/2014

Location: 4549 S. Lawler Ave.

Allegations:

Corder was standing outside when Officers Stegmiller, Gallas, and O'Keefe pulled up in an unmarked police SUV. O'Keefe got out of the car and seized Corder while Stegmiller seized another black man and handcuffed the two together. O'Keefe searched Corder's clothing and crotch area without his permission while a black unmarked police vehicle arrived with three more officers, Pacelli, Ciocci and Karczewski. These three officers told the first officers that Corder had sued CPD and they began threatening Corder. The six officers filed reports and fabricated evidence that made it appear Corder had items used to distribute heroin. Corder was held in custody until the charges were dismissed about 4 months later.
