Plaintiff:
Sir Demetrius Everett
Incident date:
02/21/2014
Location:
322 E. Illinois St.
Allegations:
Jackson and Everett had stopped to smoke a cigarette near a movie theater when Officer Clark approached them in a car. Shortly after Clark placed Jackson into the car, a second police car arrived to take Everett. Officers Jimenez and Cianaflone placed Everett into the car, then Cianaflone hit him and Jimenez grabbed him in a chokehold. The officers took Everett to the police station, where Cianaflone broke the key for one of the handcuffs, which took officers and members of the Chicago Fire Department several hours to open. The firefighters used an electric saw to cut Everett's handcuff, and Everett was charged with battery and resisting arrest. Jackson was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
