Plaintiff:
Charles Griffin
Incident date:
05/27/2013
Location:
3600 Roosevelt Rd.
Allegations:
Griffin was standing on a street corner when Officer Rodenberg nearly hit him with his car. Rodenberg walked away, and Griffin followed in his squad car. When he caught up to Griffin, Rodenberg accelerated and ran over him. Rodenberg continued driving while Griffin was under the car, dragging him for roughly 10 feet. Griffin experienced an epileptic seizure while stuck under the car. Rodenberg called for backup instead of an ambulance. Griffin's mother arrived on the scene and told Rodenberg her son had a medical condition and pleaded with the officer to call for help. Griffin remained trapped underneath the car for 10 more minutes after Officer Dorng arrived. Griffin suffered permanent disfigurement as a result of the incident.
