Plaintiff:
Demetrius Pouncy, Jr.
Incident date:
08/26/2013
Location:
727 E. 111th St.
Allegations:
Pouncy was taken into custody by two police officers. The following afternoon, Pouncy was transported to a different police station by Detective O'Brien, the lead detective on Pouncy's case. Once they arrived, Pouncy was placed in a lineup with four other young men. O'Brien and Officer Ford had a brief conversation, and Pouncy was picked out of the lineup. Ford told Pouncy to participate in another lineup. After a brief conversation, Ford told Pouncy to go stand in the corner and put his hands behind his back. Ford then handcuffed Pouncy, grabbed him by the back of his neck and slammed Pouncy's head and face into the wall one or two times. Pouncy was bleeding, dizzy and having trouble seeing, but Ford ignored his requests for medical attention. Later, Pouncy was taken to a hospital, where he was prescribed painkillers and given stitches over his eye. Pouncy was then taken to another police station, and then transported to a different hospital for additional medical care.
