Plaintiff: David L Purnell

Incident date: 01/01/2014

Location: 254 W. 106th Pl

Purnell was visiting a residence when the officers forcibly entered. The officers searched the residence after seizing Purnell and the other individuals inside, and discovered a shotgun in the bedroom and a handgun in a kitchen cabinet. Although he did not live at the residence, Purnell was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. Purnell requested a gunshot residue test to dispute the officers' claims, but they ignored him and falsely reported that he fired a gun into the air. Purnell was found not guilty 11 months later.
