$50,000

EXCESSIVE FORCE/SERIOUS

LGBT Destroy/conceal/fabricate evidence Sexual harassment/abuse Threats/intimidation Excessive force

Plaintiff: Michael Ivy

Incident date: 07/26/2012

Allegations:

Ivy, who is transgender, was told to get into Officer Gray's squad car around 2 a.m. He was told he would be arrested unless he made Officer Gray happy. They drove around in the police vehicle for about half an hour while Ivy performed oral sex on Officer Gray. Officer Gray ejaculated into Ivy's mouth. Ivy spit it into a tissue and threw it out the window. Officer Gray told Ivy to get out of the car. Ivy picked up the tissue and walked around in a daze until a passerby picked him up and drove him to a train station. He went to a hospital, where the police were called. Seven months later, no DNA testing had been completed.

Disclaimer

This database of civil police misconduct claims aims to summarize the complaint, the Chicago police officers named, and the settlement/judgment amount, and does not purport to summarize the entire legal proceeding. Defendants typically deny the allegations in a complaint, and a settlement or judgment is not an indication that every allegation is true. This database does not reflect the additional, non-Chicago police officer defendants who may have been named in the case or the specific claims that remained at the end of each case.
