Allegations:
Jackson was walking home on the South Side when he was approached by unidentified officers in a marked squad car. The officer driving the car told Jackson to walk toward him and Jackson put his hands in the air and began walking toward the car. Without warning, another officer ran toward Jackson and punched him in the side of the face and then pushed him face-first to the ground. The officers placed him in handcuffs and ordered him to identify the location of a gun. Jackson informed the officers that he did not know what they were talking about and that he needed medical attention. Officers referred to him as a “waste of flesh” and denied his request for medical care. After surveying the surrounding area for about an hour, the officers released Jackson without charging him with a crime. Jackson went to the hospital to be treated for his jaw, which was broken. Jackson lost his job due to his injuries.
