OTHER POLICE MISCONDUCT

Home invasion On duty Damage to property

Plaintiff: Edward Draine

Incident date: 03/26/2009

Location: 4201 W. Wilcox

Allegations:

Draine returned home one night with his family after a church event to find his front door broken and left ajar. His home had been looted and his work tools, television, tires and clothes were gone. Draine found a search warrant on the floor of the home listing Officer Bauman as the officer responsible. The warrant named someone in the neighborhood for suspicion of drug dealing. Draine had never heard of the person. He had only lived in the home with his family for four months and was responsible for renovating it four months before that. The property had previously been vacant for eight months. Draine did not know why his house was targeted. He reported all of this to the police and a repair service was sent to fix the door.
