Allegations:
Miller, a livery driver, had just picked up a customer when two police cars drove up and blocked his car. Officers Voss and Lewis got out, drew their guns and demanded that Miller and his passenger get out. A police sergeant arrived and told Miller that the car had been involved in an armed robbery and that he saw four people get out. Miller denied any involvement in the crime and insisted that he and his passenger were the only two people in the car. But Voss and Lewis handcuffed and arrested Miller and confiscated the $250 he had earned in fares, his radio/dispatch equipment and his medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol. Miller was charged with possession of heroin and spent 21 days in Cook County Jail. The charges were later dismissed.
